About this program
Rochester Early Medical Scholars (REMS) is an eight-year BA/BS + MD program for outstanding undergraduates who are committed to pursuing a medical career.  As a REMS student, you are admitted to the University’s School of Medicine and Dentistry once you successfully complete your bachelor’s degree and pre-med core courses.  You will also work closely with highly respected faculty members, attend special events, gain hands-on experience in clinics and labs, and earn funding for summer research projects. A broad focus on liberal arts is encouraged through an emphasis on community engagement, active involvement in research and exploring your humanistic interests ( music, advocacy, arts and etc).  REMS students benefit from close mentorship and advising, access to the medical center through REMS connections and the latitude for international exploration.
