Admissions change every year, and we track those changes as they happen. For example, in 2026-2027, admissions committees are placing greater weight on recent and ongoing patient-facing experience, not clinical hours completed years before applying. They also want applicants who understand inequities in health and society through what they have personally witnessed and done, not through abstract discussion. We guide our students in building these experiences and in writing and speaking about them authentically, because that is what committees are looking for this cycle.
