Our Story
Dedication, Determination, and Advocacy
How We Got Our Start
When Dr. Jessica Freedman, the founder of MedEdits Medical Admissions, was on faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, she found great joy in advising and mentoring students and residents. In 2007, This led her to leave Mount Sinai to launch MedEdits Medical Admissions. She designed MedEdits in the image of an academic medical department with junior and senior faculty physicians and medical educators, excellent support staff and added on an exceptional editorial team. The demand for MedEdits services has grown during the past several years, leading to an expansion of our team, all of whom have admissions experience.

Dr. Jessica Freedman, M.D.
Founder and Chair of MedEdits
About 18 years ago, I left my faculty position at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai to found MedEdits Medical Admissions. As a former medical school and residency admissions officer and faculty member, medical educator, and emergency physician, what I enjoyed most about my career was caring for patients and advising students.
I structured MedEdits like an academic medical department and we maintain the highest standards in the industry. At MedEdits, you will only work with former admissions officers and medical school faculty.
At MedEdits, we empower students to pursue their authentic interests and tell their distinctive stories which earns them impressive outcomes. We look forward to working with you.
MedEdits Faculty
At MedEdits, you will never work with a medical student advisor. Medical admissions processes are too sophisticated and high-stakes to work with someone who does not have the wealth of knowledge we require of our team.
